Captain Elmer is inspired by the famous Blackpool arcade attraction Coral Island.

He features fun and unique arcade games that are played including the claw machines and the famous Camel Derby. Blended in is also a variety of pirate themed illustrations such as ships, waves and Elmer himself is the captain with a pirate hat and eyepatch.

The piece has been created using bold and exciting colours as well as illustrative techniques. I chose Coral Island as my inspiration as it is loved not just by the people of Blackpool but by families all over the United Kingdom. It brings lots of joy and fun to everyone who goes in to play the games.
